Roundtable on Obesity Solutions
Since 2014, the Roundtable on Obesity Solutions has been the only national, multisector convener bringing together a variety of voices with a shared and dedicated focus on obesity. Through meetings, workshops, publications, and Innovation Collaboratives, the Roundtable fosters ongoing dialogue on emerging science, evaluation, and innovation efforts in obesity prevention, treatment, and management for children and adults. The Roundtable explores and advances solutions at the systems level.

Description
The Roundtable on Obesity Solutions will be established to engage leadership from multiple sectors essential for cohesive and coordinated action to solve the obesity crisis. The Roundtable will provide a trusted venue for the collaborative engagement of thought leaders from public health, health care, industry, government, philanthropy, nonprofits, the financial sector, and academia. Through meetings, public workshops, background papers, and innovation collaboratives, the Roundtable will foster an ongoing dialogue about critical and emerging policy and research issues to accelerate and sustain progress in obesity prevention, management, and treatment across the lifespan. The Roundtable will focus on such priority areas as communities (e.g., linking innovative communities; enhancing promotion of physical activity); food (e.g., food marketing; food insecurity; food systems); clinical education and practice (e.g., exploring and strengthening inter-professional education and clinical delivery systems to address obesity prevention and control); clinical-community partnerships; and identification and dissemination of innovative practices. Overarching considerations to guide the Roundtable include utilizing a comprehensive systems approach; prioritizing the lived experience of obesity through focused action and research; addressing bias and stigma; developing and using effective communication strategies; identifying innovative financing mechanisms; and fostering evaluation. Some activities could be collaborative with other roundtables and forums, such as the Food Forum. All activities of the Roundtable will be conducted in accordance with institutional guidelines described in "Roundtables: Policy and Procedures."
