Description
The Resilient America Roundtable was established as a high-level forum to:
- Advance dialogue and discussion about social, economic, and infrastructure resilience,
- Develop ideas and projects,
- Review policy and governance challenges, and
- Inform participants on education, outreach, and community projects that build resilience to disasters, extreme events, and climate impacts.
The Roundtable convenes researchers and practicing experts across a range of disciplines together with representatives of local communities, and local, state, regional, and Tribal governments, and organizations. In the face of increasing risks, the aim of these convenings is to:
- Assess the state of resilience planning and implementation across diverse communities, and
- Advance policies, knowledge, and practice that will build resilience and enhance safety, equity, and well-being of communities across the nation and globally.
The Roundtable is a key part of the Science and Technology for Resilience program by advising and informing ongoing activities and development of projects. All activities will be conducted in accordance with guidelines described in: Roundtables: Policy and Procedures.
