TRB Webinar: Measuring Resiliency – Tools for Analyzing Resilient Transportation Systems

March 18, 2021

2:00 PM - 4:00 PM (EDT)

Past

Investing in the resilience of our transportation networks and systems is a practice of continuity of operations through daily and extreme hazard conditions. TRB hosted a webinar on Thursday, March 18, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 PM Eastern that provided ways to accurately assess the value of resilience in future infrastructure investments. To achieve this, all stakeholders need to be able to understand and incorporate the cost and benefits of resilience into the decision-making process, including project prioritization, weighing trade-offs, and making informed decisions on future infrastructure investments. Presenters discussed tools and guidance for performing such an analysis. They identified what is next on the horizon for resilience analysis and measures.
This webinar is sponsored by the TRB Standing Committees on Critical Transportation Infrastructure Protection, Extreme Weather and Climate Change Adaptation, and Community Resources and Impacts. This webinar also references TR Circular E-C265: Second International Conference on Resilience to Natural Hazards and Extreme Weather Events and NCHRP Research Report 938: Incorporating the Costs and Benefits of Adaptation Measures in Preparation for Extreme Weather Events and Climate Change—Guidebook.
The recording is available.
