TRB Webinar: Managing Equity in Priced Managed Lanes

October 27, 2021

2:00 PM - 3:30 PM (EDT)

Past

Equity concerns have surrounded the implementation and operation of priced managed lanes. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 from 2:00-3:30 PM Eastern that presented case studies which have successfully implemented equity programs in their priced managed lane facilities. Public agencies implementing mobility projects must prove that these projects are not inequitable, yet often demographic and geographic data of priced managed lane users is not available. Presenters identified what demographic and geographic data were collected for priced managed lane users and non-users and how. They also explored how to develop a community-based equity program in conjunction with the opening of new priced managed lanes to improve the overall state of equity in transportation for a given geographic area.

This webinar was organized by the Standing Technical Committee on Managed Lanes.
