At this critical time we, G-Science Academies of Science and of Medicine from across the globe, including academies of the G7 countries, are engaging within our countries in many ways. But we all believe it essential to emphasize, together, the urgency of international corporation by issuing statements on the COVID-19 crisis, global insect decline, basic research, and digital health security.

Description
National science academies issue joint statements calling on world leaders at annual G8 Summits to address some of the world's greatest challenges through the use of science and technology. Historically, only science academies representing countries attending the summit would issue the statements. However, in 2020, leaders of the national science academies of Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, Global Young Academy, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, Nigeria, South Korea, the United Kingdom, and the United States signed the statements.
