The appointed committee will assess the Science Mission Directorate Science Activation (SciAct) program efforts towards meeting its stated objectives, drawing on established principles and evidence surrounding best practices in science education. The resulting report will provide feedback to SMD on its entire portfolio of programming efforts, but will not evaluate specific grantees and projects. Nominees to the committee will possess expertise relevant to the Science Activation portfolio including: Earth Science, Collaborative Models and Partnerships, Space Science, Education Policy, and Learning and Teaching in Science and Engineering.
