Closing Statement

The range of topics and perspectives presented by the speakers clearly demonstrate the breadth of possible areas of focus, and the need for a workshop to precede the committee’s larger forthcoming study. The problem the speakers have described is “wickedly” complex, with many moving parts, competing objectives, and restraints. The workshop’s greatest impact on the subsequent study has been to redirect the focus of the study from experimentation itself toward the implementation of experimentation campaigns in the Air Force.

The committee is grateful to each of the presenters for their time and their expertise in helping the committee understand the nature of the problem it is to address in its study.
