Past
Pavement markings are a ubiquitous safety measure, but a wide variety of practices results in significant differences in marking quality from location to location. A new Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) pavement marking retroreflectivity rule seeks to raise the bar for safety. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM Eastern that discussed the details of the rule and methods for compliance. Presenters shared practical aspects of compliance, including measuring retroreflectivity and using materials testing and selection to ensure compliance, and increasing cost effectiveness of marking operations.
This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s Standing Technical Committee on Traffic Control Devices.
The slides are linked in the meeting materials. View the recorded webinar below.
