The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM) is conducting a series of meetings with U.S.-based scientists from various disciplines. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss how scientists can work together to identify and address inaccurate and misleading scientific information about biological threats. Participants will explore mis- or disinformation can be addressed through scientific analysis and/or peer review, the expertise needed to address particular information, and approaches and audiences for correcting inaccurate and misleading information. The overall goal is to develop a trusted network of qualified scientists who can and are equipped to address inaccurate information.
