An ad hoc planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will host a 1-day public workshop to be conducted jointly with Northwell Health and PEACE Initiative. The workshop will bring together firearm injury prevention thought leaders to explore how hospitals, health systems, and the health care industry at large can integrate interventions for firearm injury prevention into routine care for the purpose of improving the health and safety of patients and communities.
The workshop will explore a broad range of topics including:
A planning committee will plan and organize the workshop, select and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate the discussions. A proceedings of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines. The proceedings will be subject to an appropriate review procedure prior to release.
