Description
Through their thought leadership, convening power, and support for non-profit organizations, community foundations are key assets and are poised to play an enhanced leadership role in advancing the health and resilience of communities across the Gulf region.
In 2025, GRP funded a planning grant for community foundations in three regional hubs--Houston, TX, Baton Rouge-New Orleans, LA, and Mobile, AL-- to establish the Gulf Community Foundation Resilience Network. This Network will formulate a regional strategy that leverages community foundations assets for long-term adaptive capacity and disaster resilience building efforts across the Gulf region. This new GRP initiative will strengthen and expand this network and continue to enhance the role of science in strategy development and project implementation.
