In progress
Strengthening U.S. leadership in nuclear energy through expanded deployment and export of advanced reactor technologies, streamlined licensing and construction processes, and improved fuel cycle infrastructure is of growing national interest. These efforts intersect with broader challenges involving nuclear and radiological security, radiation health and protection, waste management, environmental impacts, workforce development, and nonproliferation. The National Academies will host a webinar series exploring unresolved scientific, technical, and policy questions across these areas, highlighting evidence and expertise that can inform decisions affecting energy, public health, and national security.
