At the request of the Director of the National Science Foundation, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine has convene a committee to conduct a review of the failure and collapse of the 305-Meter Telescope at the Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico. The committee will receive briefings from contracted consultants and management staff on technical analysis performed for the Arecibo Telescope, including design review, structural analysis, and metallurgical testing.
