The Board on Army Research and Development at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will conduct a workshop to examine the role of Integration Readiness Levels (IRLs) in Army technology development and adoption. The workshop will review the current role of IRLs in Army technology development; examine common definitions to enhance future IRL frameworks; and identify definitions and metrics for IRLs for emerging technologies, specifically AI/ML and autonomous systems, hypersonic weapons, quantum sensing, and directed energy weapon systems. The workshop will bring together experts and speakers from across academia, industry, the military, and government.
