Reports have indicated that cost is a key barrier for students entering higher education and cannot afford to pay tuition fees out-of-pocket. Committee Members and invited guest speakers will discuss whether cost is a barrier to entering the health professions on February 28, explore existing payment models and strategies on March 25th, and a special session focused on primary care on April 1. The main workshop, on April 23-24 in Washington DC, will seek to understand the value of HPE and whether a shift in the value proposition may be desired to ensure sustainability of the health professions workforce.
