Clinical research is critical to developing new treatments and therapies for patients. In order to maximize societal benefit and health equity, clinical research information should be accessible, inclusive, and representative of the patient population. On October 28, 2021, join the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine’s Roundtable on Health Literacy for a public workshop, Adoption of Health Literacy Best Practice to Enhance Clinical Research: A Workshop. This event will explore the following topics:

- The role that patient comprehension of clinical research can have in delivering high-quality clinical care;

- Current and promising resources and approaches for ensuring the public is provided with clinical research information in language that is understandable to them and that promotes health literacy; and

- Strategies for the integration of clinical research information into various care and community settings to enhance research awareness and engagement.
