On March 14-15, 2023, the National Academies convened a two-day conference to encourage the use of data, research, and experiments to improve the way scientific research is supported in the United States, particularly by federal agencies. Discussions at the event were also intended to help identify potential opportunities for collaborations between federal agencies and academic researchers who focus on these topics. A workshop proceedings is being prepared.
