An expert committee under the Science and Technology for Sustainability program organized a workshop on October 17, 2018 focused on addressing the impacts of reducing food loss and waste on farmers, food prices, food availability, and the environment. The workshop examined key challenges that arise in reducing food loss and waste throughout the supply chain and discussed potential ways to address these challenges. This workshop was built on two previous events hosted by the STS program addressing the sustainability challenges associated with providing food security. The proceedings of the workshop will be issued in 2019.
