The committee held data-gathering sessions that were open to the public at four of its five meetings. Committee members also visited several military installations, including Camp Pendleton, California; Fort Belvoir, Virginia; Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi; San Diego Naval Base, California; and Fort Hood, Texas.
