Guidance Documents

Throughout the report, the committee has discussed numerous disaster plans currently being employed at academic research institutions. In an effort to guide disaster resilience planning at academic research institutions, the committee has assembled the following list of guidance documents (see Table D-1). Please note that this list is not exhaustive, but it includes information that the committee identified as being contributory to disaster resilience planning at academic research institutions.

Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Building a Disaster-Resistant University (DRU) Building a Disaster-Resistant University is both a how-to guide and a distillation of the experiences of six universities and colleges that have been working to become more disaster resistant.
