- Learn about the scholarship and academic literature about open science and online sharing of scientific data access and sharing, including
- Learn about how scientific data and results are shared among and used by scientists in Central and Southeast Asia, particularly focusing on access through these open science and online platforms. Included in this question is whether and how data from different sources (e.g., patient data versus other biological data) are shared and accessible to scientists to enable analyses and peer review via the online platforms.
- Discuss the benefits and drawbacks of relying on scientific data, analyses, and information communicated through these open science and online platforms.
- Discuss how uncertainty is described through open science and online platforms in times of crisis and times of stability (or no crisis, when time exists for data to be generated, analyzed, and critically peer reviewed).
- Discuss strategies for identifying inaccurate and misleading information and determining whether and which information needs to be addressed urgently, and what mis- and disinformation is not urgent versus urgent to address (i.e., when response is immediate) and with patient data versus other biological data.
