About

The Forum on Advancing Diagnostic Excellence will organize and conduct a public virtual webinar to explore ways to improve rare disease diagnosis as well as the patient journey towards a timely and accurate diagnosis. Participants will discuss strategies within areas such as:

Challenges and barriers faced by patients in their journey toward a timely and accurate diagnosis;
The role of technologies and diagnostic innovations, including their development, implementation, and broad, inclusive access;
Health professional education, care coordination, and interdisciplinary teamwork to reduce diagnostic delays;
Policy and health system-level approaches to strengthening the diagnostic journey for patients with rare disease.

The Forum on Advancing Diagnostic Excellence will organize and conduct a public webinar to explore select strategies undertaken by leaders in the U.S. health care system to drive diagnostic excellence in their organizations. Participants will discuss specific actions and strategies related to:

Evidence-based methods that have improved diagnostic outcomes for the populations served by their institutions, companies, and organizations;
Challenges and barriers in deploying new or innovative approaches to improving the diagnostic process, such as cost and payment, and uptake and adoption by clinical teams;
Potential future opportunities and solutions to issues related to implementing strategies that could be used by leadership to advance diagnostic excellence.
