Formed in 2007, the Forum on Medical and Public Health Preparedness for Catastrophic Events convenes public and private sector leaders to improve the nation’s preparedness for, response to and recovery from disasters, public health emergencies and emerging threats. The Forum fosters discussion to identify barriers and explore solutions to ensure and sustain national security, recovery capacity, and resilience. The Forum is self-governing and the membership, comprised of approximately 40 members and sponsors representing federal agencies, private industry and non-profit organizations, focuses its attention in 2016-2017 on topics within the themes of global health security, communication and coordination, personal and community resilience, and critical infrastructure.
