Using electronic devices while driving is unsafe, but legislation and enforcement is inconsistent throughout the United States. TRB hosted a webinar on Monday, March 15, 2021 from 1:00-2:30 PM Eastern that reviewed current electronic device use laws and enforcement strategies. Presenters discussed public awareness strategies and successes in various jurisdictions. They also identified key deliverables designed to share best practices with stakeholders.

This webinar is sponsored by the TRB Standing Committees on Traffic Law Enforcement, Human Factors of Vehicles, and Impairment in Transportation. It also features research from the Behavioral Traffic Research Program’s first report, Using Electronic Devices While Driving: Legislation and Enforcement Implications.

The first 60 minutes of the webinar will be for presentations and the final 30 minutes will be reserved for audience questions.
