Smart technologies help state departments of transportation (DOTs) improve work zone safety for motorists, construction and maintenance workers, and other users of the transportation system. TRB hosted a webinar on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM Eastern that provided an overview of the technologies used, evaluation studies, tools to support implementation, performance measures, challenges, and applications. Presenters also shared possible future technologies.

This webinar is based on NCHRP Synthesis Report 587: Use of Smart Work Zone Technologies for Improving Work Zone Safety.
