Transportation construction inspectors use expertise in earthwork, structures, and pavement to ensure that construction work meets or exceeds the contract requirements. Development of construction inspectors is vital to completing safe, quality projects on time and on budget. TRB hosted a webinar on October 11, 2024 that provided an overview of NCHRP Report 1027: Guide to Recruiting, Developing, and Retaining Transportation Infrastructure Construction Inspectors and how departments of transportation can develop new inspectors to perform inspections correctly and accurately to counter declining projected workforce attrition rates.
This webinar was sponsored by TRB’s National Cooperative Highway Research Program.
