The Forum members discussed the importance of having a succinct product that captures the rich presentations and discussions that took place during the Forum’s tenure. Since the product does not fit into a category of workshop proceedings, consensus study, or traditional communications product, this is considered a derivative product. This product will contain content that is already published in workshop proceedings or briefs by the National Academies Press and will be attributed throughout to the speakers who presented the content. It will be a cross-cutting version of what has been published and organized across workshops since many ideas and key points were expressed in more than one workshop. The summary will be developed from a catalogue of all of the key points made throughout the workshops to make sure the summary is balanced. This will be an electronic, interactive document that could include links to the published summaries, briefs, and video presentations housed on the Academies YouTube channel available through the Forum website.
The product will be subject to an appropriate review process that will be overseen by the HMD executive office.
