Frontiers Planet Prize to Accelerate Scientific Solutions for Healthy Lives on a Healthy Planet
The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine serve as the U.S. National Representative Body for the Frontiers Planet Prize. The 5th edition of the Prize is now open. U.S. universities and research institutions that have not yet participated are invited to register as National Nominating Bodies by September 15, 2026 to nominate eligible research by October 30, 2026.

Frontiers Planet Prize Names 25 National Champions for 2026
Announcement
Amir AghaKouchak has been named the U.S. National Champion for the 2026 Frontiers Planet Prize in recognition of his work on the monitoring and mitigation of extreme hydrological conditions. The prize celebrates scientific breakthroughs offering scalable, evidence-based solutions in the sustainability space. The National Academies led the review and recommendation of U.S. nominees for the prize.
