The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine appointed a planning committee to plan a 3-day, virtual open workshop on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on children with disabilities and their families. The planning committee planned and conducted a workshop that will:

• Explored promising approaches and innovative strategies employed during the pandemic to address challenges faced by children with disabilities and their families, including access to clinical service and treatment needs, home caregiving, and mental health treatment with an emphasis on underserved/under resourced children and families; and

• Considered policies and/or practices that might be sustained or implemented beyond the pandemic to support children with disabilities and their families.

After the workshop, a brief proceedings of a workshop of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
