Join the National Academies' Committee on Atmospheric Methane Removal: Development of a Research Agenda on October 17 and 18, 2023 for a hybrid workshop on needs, challenges, and opportunities around these emerging technologies. The workshop will be an opportunity for the community to engage around questions of the need for atmospheric methane removal; the potential, risks, and co-benefits of viable technological options; and research gaps that could improve understanding. Information gathered during the workshop will be used to inform the report-writing process.

Call for Technical Input

As part of this study, the committee invites input on technology options for atmospheric methane removal and considerations around co-benefits, barriers, and unintended consequences. Technical input can be provided in the form of scientific papers (published or preprints), technical reports or summaries, or white papers.The deadline to submit input is October 31, 2023.
