About

Accurately estimating facility renewal costs to restore and modernize aging infrastructure is essential for maintaining building safety and functionality, determining long-term investments, and supporting lifecycle planning.

Join the National Academies on September 10-11 for a workshop exploring the latest methodologies for estimating facility renewal costs and ways to foster collaboration and innovation in facility management. Workshop topics will include sessions on depreciation models and approaches, depreciation rates and facility service life assumptions, and new data resources for renewal cost research.

The goal of this event is to discuss potential next steps in implementing recommendations made in the National Academies’ 2023 report Strategies to Renew Federal Facilities and spark interdisciplinary discussion between policy experts, researchers, and real property asset managers.
