The Mississippi River Flood Centennial Serious Game

In progress

The Great Flood of 1927 transformed the Mississippi River, its management systems, and the communities that depend on it. The centennial of this historic event presents an opportunity to reflect on changes to and management of the Mississippi River not just over the last century, but for the decades to come. The Gulf Research Program is building on its successful use of serious game simulations to convene experts and stakeholders to envision potential management scenarios of the Mississippi River, examining how today’s decisions could shape the river and the communities that depend on it for the next 100 years.
