Individuals with mental health and substance use disorders, particularly those with the most serious conditions, face substantial obstacles to receiving effective, evidence-based care. Despite their high rates of co-occurrence with other medical conditions, the integration of services for mental health and substance use disorders into the broader health care delivery and financing system has proved challenging. The Forum’s initial workshop took a broad approach to examine several related overarching topics.
