This public workshop explored relevant issues related to developing a cultural, legal, and behavioral framework of collaboration that enables biospecimen and data sharing in order to promote genomic-based drug or product development. The workshop featured invited presentations and discussions from academia, industry, government, and others on the architecture of collaboration, existing platforms and their application to genomics, and the issues related to establishing future collaborations that will progress genomics-driven drug or product development. The goal of the workshop was to highlight the critical factors that are necessary for successful collaboration, what lessons can be learned from existing collaborations, and what challenges stand in the way of collaboration.
