This 2-day workshop will discuss approaches and strategies for evaluating and measuring the effectiveness of sexual harassment interventions being implemented at higher education institutions and research and training sites, in order to assist institutions in transforming promising ideas into evidence-based best practices. The workshop discussions will focus on parameters that go beyond decreases in the prevalence of sexual harassment and to methods, metrics, and interim measures that can demonstrate a change in the organizational climate and culture and/or a change in behavior among community members.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will conduct a 2-day Workshop on Developing Evaluation Metrics for Sexual Harassment Prevention Efforts. This workshop will discuss approaches and strategies for evaluating and measuring the effectiveness of sexual harassment interventions being implemented at higher education institutions and research and training sites, in order to assist institutions in transforming promising ideas into evidence-based best practices. The workshop discussions will focus on parameters that go beyond decreases in the prevalence of sexual harassment and to methods, metrics, and interim measures that can demonstrate a change in the organizational climate and culture and/or a change in behavior among community members. The published and publicly available Proceedings from this event would serve as a resource for federal grantees, including higher education institutions and other stakeholders doing work in this space, as they consider ways to evaluate the efficacy of their ongoing and future interventions.
