In May 2017 a committee under the auspices of the Board on Science, Technology, and Economic Policy convened a workshop to explore the role of the Manufacturing USA initiative. Begun in 2012, the Manufacturing USA has established a nationwide network of research centers for manufacturing innovation. A brief workshop summary and archived webcast of the event are available.
