Security is important to consider when designing and building transportation infrastructure. TRB hosted a webinar on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM Eastern that illustrated deployment strategies for implementing security practices. Presenters described case studies from Minnesota, Idaho, bridges, and cyber perspectives to demonstrate security measures. They also presented the Security Implementation Tool that state departments of transportation can use to benchmark planning and change management processes.
This webinar was organized by TRB’s Standing Technical Committee on Critical Infrastructure Protection. It also features research from NCHRP Research Report 525: Security 101: A Physical Security Primer for Transportation Agencies and NCHRP Research Report 793: Incorporating Transportation Security Awareness into Routine State DOT Operations and Training.
