A committee of the National Academies will review current practices and recommend ways to improve the interpretation and uses of human biomonitoring data for environmental toxicants (e.g., levels of environmental contaminants in human tissues and fluids, such as blood, urine, or hair). The committee will include some members from other countries engaged in biomonitoring. The committee's report will identify key principles and uncertainties in estimating and interpreting toxicant exposures and health risks from biomonitoring data.
