A planning committee of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will organize and conduct a public workshop that explores how to build toward integrated care pathways capable of supporting more precise and individualized approaches to traumatic brain injury (TBI) characterization and management, and identifies opportunities and partnerships to advance coordinated progress. Invited presentations and discussions may be designed to:

• Explore current knowledge on TBI care pathways across the continuum from injury recognition and acute care through rehabilitation, follow-up, and long-term services, highlighting examples of pathway elements and system features associated with improved outcomes.
• Identify and map examples of existing resources, guidance, tools, and systems that address specific elements of TBI care pathways, including who is doing what across sectors and settings.
• Discuss implications of the TBI clinical-biomarkers-imaging-modifiers (CBI-M) framework for care delivery, including what can be implemented now, what infrastructure is required, and what further research and development is needed.
• Discuss gaps, redundancies, and opportunities across pathway elements, and identify major actions, roles, and partnerships needed to advance more integrated, coordinated, and scalable TBI care while minimizing unnecessary duplication.

The planning committee will organize the workshop, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and discussants, and moderate or identify moderators for the discussions. A proceedings of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
