Join the Board on Children, Youth, and Families of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine and the University of Michigan’s MyVoice team to hear what youth think about our recent report, Promoting Positive Adolescent Health Behaviors and Outcomes: Thriving in the 21st Century.

This hour-long session will include a moderated discussion about the main messages of the report and what these mean for youth today. The discussion will be based on our new Highlights for Youth brief, which was created and revised with feedback from over 600 youth.

The National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine is conducting a study on “Applying Lessons of Optimal Adolescent Health to Improve Behavioral Outcomes for Youth.” The committee conducting this study will hold a public information gathering session on April 17, 2019, in Washington, DC. The committee is charged with examining key program factors that can improve health outcomes related to adolescent behavior, and recommending successful strategies that can be used to inform the effective implementation of federal programming initiatives, including the Teen Pregnancy Prevention program. This public information-gathering session will bring together key stakeholders to inform this analysis, including representatives from government, public schools, academia, research non-profit organizations, and youth peer-to-peer programs.
