Description
The Academies shall convene an ad hoc committee of experts to evaluate and respond to the following questions:
Are the current technology investments in space-based optics adequate to ensure these technologies are mature enough to be considered for next generation architecture, and if not, what additional measures are required to assure an informed decision?
Are the current technology demonstration projects sufficient to both reduce risk for insertion of future technologies and to provide a mechanism to more efficiently transition future technologies?
What opportunities exist to better inform future technology development and/or transition decisions?
