The Roundtable on Health Literacy will convene a workshop on December 6, 2018 on integrating oral and general health through health literacy practices. This workshop is the culmination of the work of the roundtable’s oral health collaborative. The roundtable convened its first oral health workshop in 2012 and established the oral health collaborative in 2015.

Description
An ad hoc committee will plan and conduct a one-day public workshop that will feature invited presentations and discussion on the ways in which health literacy principles and practices can facilitate the integration of dental and general health. A commissioned paper will be presented during the workshop. The workshop may include presentations and discussion of issues related to the challenges/barriers of integration, models of integration, effective health literacy strategies for promoting integration, and other areas as appropriate. The committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and other participants, and moderate the discussions. A designated rapporteur will produce a proceedings of a workshop in accordance with institutional guidelines.
