Description
An ad hoc planning committee will plan and conduct a one-day public workshop that will feature invited presentations and discussion of incorporating health literacy principles into clinical trials. The workshop may include presentations and discussion of issues related to:
- challenges or barriers for diverse populations’ participation in clinical trials,
- best practices for clinical trial sites and researchers incorporating health literacy practices,
- effective health literacy strategies for clear communication with participants, and
- other areas as appropriate.
The planning committee will define the specific topics to be addressed, develop the agenda, select and invite speakers and other participants, and moderate the discussions. A proceedings of the presentations and discussions at the workshop will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
