Please join us on October 23, 2019 at 11:30 am ET for the report release of the new National Academy of Medicine report, Taking Action Against Burnout: A Systems Approach to Professional Well-Being. The event will include an overview of the report and discussion of the report’s findings, recommendations, and key messages.

The report will examine the scientific evidence regarding the causes of clinician burnout as well as the consequences for both clinicians and patients, and interventions to support clinician well-being and resilience.

The Committee on Systems Approaches to Improve Patient Care by Supporting Clinician Well-Being will hold its second public meeting on November 27, 2018 in the Lecture Room at the National Academy of Sciences building (2101 Constitution Ave, NW, 20418). The Committee has invited speakers to cover a variety of topics including: the nursing work environment; workplace health and safety; technology and health systems transformation; patient safety and technology; medicare clinical documentation requirements; health information and clinical burden; EHRs and usability; moral distress, burnout, and resilience among health care professionals; innovations to address clinician burnout and wellness; certification standards and methods; and well-being and the learning environment.
