The National Cancer Policy Forum convened a public workshop to examine contemporary issues in protecting human subjects in cancer research. Workshop sessions fostered dialogue between patient advocates and experts in the conduct and oversight of clinical cancer research, with the goal of identifying potential policy actions to address current challenges. Workshop presentations examined regulatory provisions that may not adequately protect patients or may hinder research, as well as potential strategies and actions to address these challenges.
