An ad hoc committee will organize a convocation that will serve as the concluding event of a series of nine regional meetings across the country that have been organized to engage stakeholders in discussions of the NRC report, Research Universities and the Future of America: Ten Breakthrough Action Vital to Our Nation’s Prosperity and Security (PGA-BHEW-09-01). The convocation will feature invited presentations and discussion of the major themes and key messages that emerged from the regional meetings. Participants will also discuss priorities for implementing the report's recommendations in the coming months and years. The committee will develop the agenda and select and invite speakers and discussants. A rapporteur will prepare an individually-authored workshop summary.
