An English-Chinese Chinese-English Glossary of Cybersecurity Terms

In progress

Any project, supported or not by a committee, that is currently being worked on or is considered active, and will have an end date.

The National Academies' Committee on International Security and Arms Control (CISAC) and the Chinese Scientists Group on Arms Control (CSGAC) are collaborating to develop an English-Chinese, Chinese-English glossary of cybersecurity and cyber operations terminologies. This effort is part of the ongoing security dialogue and mirrors the English-Chinese, Chinese-English Nuclear Security Glossary published by the National Academies in 2008. Description

A working group of the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine will collaborate with a counterpart working group of the Chinese Scientists’ Group on Arms Control (CSGAC) to identify a set of terms in Mandarin and English that are essential to understanding cybersecurity policies and practices within the United States and China, including conceptual and operational terms. In consultation with U.S. and Chinese experts from government, academia, and industry, the joint group will develop authoritative definitions of terms selected for their importance in bilateral and international discussions about cybersecurity and cyber operations. The result will be a peer-reviewed glossary of terms in both languages, with references.
