This pilot of the Presidents of the National Academies will co-host three forums during 2019 focused on increasing diversity, equity, and inclusion in the consideration of current vital science, engineering, and medicine policy issues. Importantly, the conversations will not only focus on the scientific, engineering, and medical dimensions of the issues, but will consider broader social and cultural challenges from the perspective of early career, women, and underrepresented individuals. The three events are:

  • Women and Entrepreneurship, 6/19/2019, Irvine, CA;
  • Integrating Equity and Intentional Culture in STEMM Education (with AAHHE), 9/15-16/2019, San Marcos, TX;
  • Equity in Design, 12/02/2019, Washington, DC.
