Biotechnology Cooperation for the U.S.- India Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET): A Workshop Series

A committee-supported project or activity that has been completed and for which output dissemination has begun. Its committee has been disbanded and closeout procedures are underway.

The U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine, together with Indian partners, will convene experts from both countries to identify options for U.S.- India biotechnology cooperation consistent with the new initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (iCET). During one in-person and two virtual workshops, participants will discuss areas of bilateral cooperation, including genomics, synthetic biology, bioprocessing, next generation sequencing, protection of critical biotechnology information, and efficient and effective regulatory approaches across a diversity of relevant sectors. Following these discussions, a peer-reviewed workshop proceedings will be published and available free of charge.
