On October 14-15, 2020, an expert committee of the Board on Research Data and Information (BRDI) conducted a virtual public workshop on how researchers are utilizing data that undergoes repeated processing, often in real-time, to accelerate discovery and the challenges they are facing. A Proceedings of a Workshop-in Brief was issued in 2021.

Description
An ad hoc planning committee will organize and conduct a one-day public workshop featuring invited presentations and discussions on how researchers are utilizing data that undergoes repeated processing, often in real-time, to accelerate discovery and the challenges they are facing. The discussions will explore what advances will be needed to enable progress in the future, in areas such as artificial intelligence, cyberinfrastructure, standards, and policies. The participants will include representatives from relevant communities, including researchers, institutions, government and private funders, and publishers. Following the workshop, staff will post the viewgraphs from the workshop to the project website. A Proceedings of a Workshop-in Brief will be prepared by a designated rapporteur in accordance with institutional guidelines.
